HAPPY SPRING!
Even if it doesn’t quite feel like it today, there’s a lot happening in the gallery right now. I’ve just finished installing our newest exhibition, THEMES & COLORS, and I’m especially excited about this one…I approached it a bit differently.
Instead of separating works by artist, I’ve intertwined them, allowing each piece to sit in conversation with others around shared themes and color palettes. The result highlights how differently artists can approach the same idea.
I also introduced two sensory components to expand the experience beyond just looking.
The first is a listening station where a record player has been installed in the gallery, paired with a selection of vinyl from my personal collection. Each record connects to specific works and themes, inviting visitors to explore how sound can shape the way we experience visual art.
The second is an interactive project titled THE SHARED SURFACE—a public, evolving artwork. I’ve installed 10 foot wide, a floor-to-ceiling, sheet of paper and will work on it daily while in the gallery. Visitors are invited to contribute their own marks, adding to the piece in real time. The goal is to encourage public creativity and simply just play and be part of this experience.
There are no age restrictions. Just participation.
Over the course of the exhibition, the work will continuously transform. Marks may remain, be altered, or disappear entirely as others build on top. Once complete, the large piece will be cut into smaller works, each becoming part of a new collection shaped by collective input.
I’m especially interested in how people respond—who chooses to participate, who hesitates, and how the artwork evolves through those decisions. My goal is to create an environment that feels open, playful, and collaborative.
All ages are encouraged to take part. Participation can take place any time during gallery hours.

THEMES & COLORS
On view through June 28, 2026
OPENING RECEPTION
Saturday, May 16 | 1–4 PM
Themes & Colors explores the relationship between subject matter and palette, bringing together artists whose works are organized through both theme and color sensibility. Rather than isolating each artist, the exhibition interweaves their voices, revealing distinct approaches within shared frameworks.
Each section becomes a conversation. Sailboats shift between stillness and motion. Fireflies capture fleeting light and atmosphere. Digital paintings reflect the evolving language of contemporary tools. Sculpture introduces material and spatial presence. Music-inspired works translate sound into visual form.
Two sensory elements extend the experience. A listening station invites visitors to engage with music alongside the artwork, while an interactive wall—THE SHARED SURFACE—encourages direct participation in a continually evolving piece.
Themes & Colors invites viewers to look beyond surface similarities and engage with nuance—exploring not just what is depicted, but how each artist transforms theme and color into a personal visual language.
CUSTOM FRAMING
Below are a selection of our recent framing projects, ranging dramatically in size—from 8 x 8 inches to 33 x 86 inches.
When framing artwork that is not from the gallery, our approach is always to keep the focus on the piece itself, not the frame. A well-chosen frame should enhance the artwork, never overshadow it. The right frame complements the work effortlessly.
