November Newsletter: What’s New in the Gallery
As the holiday season approaches, we want to send our warm wishes. We have recently added new works to the gallery and also have new pieces currently on view. Every quarter we do a complete overhaul of the gallery layout, curate the space in a new way, bring in fresh works, and keep the environment feeling renewed. In between those full refreshes, we continue to update the space by replacing sold works with new pieces that complement the current layout.
Over the past few months several pieces have found new homes, which means multiple new works have been added to the current installation. We want to highlight some of those works now.
NEW WORKS ON VIEW
This is a fun and versatile piece because it can sit on a table or pedestal but it can also hang on a wall with a hook as a piece of wall art.
This is Justin’s first encaustic painting. Encaustic has been a medium he has wanted to try for a long time. It is a centuries-old wax medium that lets you build amazing textures through layering, carving, and scraping, which makes it a perfect fit for many of the techniques people already love in his work. The colors in encaustic have a richness that deepens over time, and the medium itself is incredibly versatile. Justin has quickly fallen in love with it and is currently working on his first full collection of encaustic paintings.
WINKEL FRAME SHOP
In addition to the art side of the gallery, the framing side remains a constant and surprisingly fun part of what we do. We love framing the works inside the gallery and helping elevate pieces even more than they already are. We also love working with the pieces in your personal collections. Here are a few recent framing projects that really stood out. Some stood out because of their scale, others because of the materials, and others because of the work itself, including a limited edition Jean-Michel Basquiat lithograph.
If you ever need anything framed, feel free to bring it by for a consultation and we can talk through the best options for your work.
RECENT COMMISSIONED PAINTING
Justin just finished this commissioned glass painting for a wonderful couple in Boston. Unfortunately, it is being shipped out tomorrow so it will not have a chance to be on display in the gallery, but we still wanted to share it here. Over the past three months, he has worked with these collectors to figure out the perfect scale, design, and color palette for their space. The couple wanted a large statement piece.
Commissioned art is fun because it allows you to work with the artist on some of the finer details like size, color palette, inspiration, and framing, while still giving the artist creative control to create a piece just for the collector in their signature style. Interested in commissioning a piece of art, send us an email and let us know your ideas.

AMY SHERALD: AMERICAN SUBLIME
Baltimore Museum of Art
Open Now Through April 5, 2026
I had the chance to see this exhibition when it was in New York at The Whitney Museum of American Art, and it is a fantastic collection of works from Sherald that spans decades of her career. She spent many years living in Baltimore and graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. The Baltimore Museum of Art is expecting this to be one of their most visited exhibitions in years, and it is definitely worth a visit. Below are some photos I took while viewing the exhibition in New York.

What to Read
If you’re into music and art, this is the perfect coffee table book for you. I love collecting records and art books, and I was first introduced to this one by the owner of El Suprimo, the record store just a few doors down from the gallery. My parents had a pretty impressive record collection when I was a kid, and I have great memories of listening to music growing up. That love followed me into adulthood, and I have started building my own vinyl collection. So this book brings together two of my biggest interests in one place, Art & Music.
